Honestly, if you drink enough water, you can stay outdoors. However, most people I know of stay somewhere that has AC during the day. Because they "can't stand the heat". Me, I cook in the heat! The hotter the better. Of course, I usually wear nothing but boxers when I'm in my house--no AC. Why wear more?
My wife is like this ... she grew up in a house in Miami that didn't have AC and today, she LOVES the heat/humidity.

(Her mom just got central AC 6 months ago!!!)

im craving my humidity.....freezing weather has already begun here in CT. its 31 this morning! im not like alot of people i know.. i love the heat and humidity. i do get a bit uncomfortable at times but i mostly find myself going outside to get comfortable from the air conditioning. everyone laughs at me..
yesterday, it was in the low 60s here, i was outside for 10 min waiting for my daughters bus and i got an earache. just a thing with me but i was misserable and didnt take my coat off inside for a half hour. my husband doesnt like the heat on during the day yet so 65 in the house is a bit much for me.

Well, whether they'll fine them or not, many sections of sidewalk in Manhattan do not get shoveled when it snows . . . as we've both noted, snow doesn't stick in this area for long, though (and it's hardly been snowing for the past 10 years or so). There must not be any patrolling of this equivalent to the parking violation nazis.

It is too hot you mow your own lawn when the heat index is over 100 degrees in the summer in Naples.
My mom mows her lawn (their lot is just over a third of an acre), with a push mower, in Royal Palm Beach in August and September . . . and she's 70. [shrug] But remember that if it even hits the 60s, my mom is freezing.

Her one neighbor, who is from the Bronx, also mows his in August and September, he's probably about the same age, he also uses a push mower, and he dresses something like a bee keeper--a big safari hat with a net hanging down, a long sleeve shirt, heavy gloves, long pants, big work boots, lol. I think he's afraid of sunshine and critters.

12 or 13 depending on the shoes, but if it means going back to CT I'll just cut the ends off to make them fit!

Hey Markhunt, Forget the shoes, even if you have to come up barefoot you will like it...

Moved back to NYC, it's nice up here. Can't wait for the cold cold weather, and the snow, I love NYC.

I've been in the Gainesville area almost all summer and I don't mind the heat and humidity. I am excited for it to get a bit cooler so we can get outside and do more, but the summer went by very, very quickly. I'd rather be down here waiting for it to get nicer than in some northern state dreading the onset of winter!
