Tocoma, If you move to Florida, you will miss the long views that you have in the west. The panoramic views of the west are not found in Florida. If you are on the water here you can get long views and the summer clouds do give you a panorama at times but is nothing like the west. Florida highway views are boring compared to the incredible drives you have out west.

I have met two people who moved here from the west and they were almost costrophobic at first, missing those long views. The beauty of Florida is mostly close in. The flip side is that you can have nearly complete privacy in a one acre wooded lot in Florida where as you can have hundreds of acres with no trees out west and no privacy.

Your property looks gorgeous!

Here is a pic of workin on a pond at the bottom of a "hill" near Wacahoota. The "hill" is in the background with the tall palms on it. It is about a 125 feet above the pond which is a big vertical drop round these parts.

Here is a typical "long view" in the same area:

I love the pics on here. It looks so strange to see a pasture with cattle grazing and there are palm trees there.

Tacoma, those pics are beautiful. I have to agree with the poster who said it's beautiful up here, but just too cold.. So sorry to hear about your moose accident.

I live in Citrus County and we have plenty of rolling hills here. It is somewhat rural, lots of cattle ranches and nice open land. Lots of lakes too. You should check out Citrus and Marion counties, the scenery is very appealing!!

Tacoma,

I understand why you want to leave those Wyoming winters. I wuz out there in the winter once an a cold front passed through and the temp dropped so fast that when the mercury bottomed out on the glass it jerked the thermometer off the wall!

Another time I wuz fishin in a pond in the fall when a cold front came through. All the frogs heard it comming and tried to jump back into the water but didnt make it and were froze in ice with their legs sticking out in the air. I got my lawn mower and got me a mess of frog legs to last me thru the year!

But I am sure you hear these stories all the time from the locals.

Here is a true cold story. When I hit the bull moose it was -35 below zero. The windshield turned into a powder. It did not break into little bits, it powdered because of the cold.

WacahootaMan, I am looking for the hill but I don't see it. Where? I do love the pictures and I can myself with a small air conditioned cabin and big can of raid right in the middle of that cow patch.

Jamie, how strange huh? Cows and palm trees? I wonder what they taste like? We are use to grass fed of if I feel like having really good cow we put it on corn for the last 3 months. Now the city folk are wondering what we are talking about.

Finally, my ex has agreed to accept the money for my daughter from SSA for my head injury. He said it will sit there until I find a piece of property and then he will give me the money to buy the land! Nice guy!

I have the money, I just need to find the time to get up there and drive around.

Thanks friends, April

Sorry, here is another it is so cold story. You have seen the picture of our pond in the back yard. It was so cold that a fish jumped out of the water onto the ice and my DH caught the fish by snagging it with a hook and dragging it across the water to the bank.

Fresh fish!

I am curious, and to try to get a perspective. What is the value of your ranch? It looks like heaven on earth.
