Heck, I don't feel bad about it one bit. It's given me some great stories to tell.

As far as greener pastures go, it's gonna take a bit more then a little wind and water to chase this cracker out of the state.

It's days like today when it's all worth it, and those bad weather days are nothing but a story.

Marion County is the lightning capital of the United States.
Deland FL was hit by both tornadoes and they have had some rather large sink holes also.

Default I have experienced all of them too...

"Does anyone realize how serious and deadly they are... farthermore worse than hurricanes? Does anyone realize that tornadoes are everywhere in Central Florida, can happen anytime unlike other places in the US where tornadoes can form in the spring?"

You know...growing up, I was in an F-5 in Illinois, and because we move around a lot (dh Coast Guard) I always told him NO WHERE that tornadoes are. I never knew Florida had tornadoes until after we moved here in '04. If I had known, we wouldn't have put it on the list. We have been in a few tornado warnings here, but none actually touched down by us, thank God! I never want to go through that again. Thankfully he is due for rotation again next year. I cannot stand the excessive humidity, heat, bugs, hurricanes, tornadoes, termites and fireants! Gee, that sounds so negative! Let me say that we have found some really good friends here, there are some very nice people also, and some parts of Florida are just beautiful, especially the beaches.

Winter tornadoes in central Florida happen mostly in El Nino years. The ones last week, the deadly ones in Orlando in 98 and one that hit my place in 83. All these tornadoes happened in February in El Nino years.

Luckily for me, the funnel cloud was bouncing off the land and my place was down in a holler so it bounced over my little travel trailer and sheered the tops of the trees nearby. Several fell along side the trailer but the damaging winds didnt reach down to the ground and my trailer was spared. My neighbors who lived on a hill top lost everything and two people down the road were killed.

I knew something was up when I was hearing non stop thunder at 2 am in a winter nite. There was a greenish light when the tornado jumped over me too.

I used to love storms. But since then they make me nervous.

BTW, more severe weather with possible tornadoes is predicted for this Tuesday for North Central Florida
