Post 2008 Florida Hurricane Season Leasons Learned

This thread is to provide feedback on how to prepare, survive, and pick-up the pieces if we get a direct hit by a hurricane or another tropical storm like Fay.

Note: This is not to criticize state or local government, this is to provide feedback on how can we do better during the hurricane season. The result of our actions should gives an indication of success or failure. I'm asking for the successful outcomes...
