You don't have to go to other countries to find a place with worse heat and humidity then Florida..

Look to New Orleans, LA and Houston, TX.

You know what's really ironic ?

In states where you really need your AC ( Florida/Texas ) They charge an arm and a leg for electricity..

In states like Minnesota and Wisconsin, electricity is cheap.

Go figure.

Good luck in Florida. You'll miss Tennessee within a month, guaranteed.
Actually where I live isn't too bad. Then again I live about 25 miles east of Jackson & serisously in the middle of nowhere. We are 11 miles from the nearest town, but we're only 2 miles from the Interstate. Plus we have 8 1/2 acres & behind that is another 130 that belongs to the elderly couple who used to babysit me. Which has always been a good thing when I wanted to go ATV riding .

But for the most part you're right about West TN. My brother lived in Memphis for over 7 years, then he moved to Jackson (nither M or J was in a good part of town either), then Humbolt, then Nashville in Hermitage & Hendernsonville, & now he's been back home with his wife & their 2 young kids (2 1/2 & 6 mts) for a little over 2 years.

And thanks but I doubt I will ever miss Tennessee. Especially since I wanna move to Daytona, and yes I have been there for a week this past July & a week last July. And I know that Daytona is fairly dangerous & is nothing like the country. But I figure that Daytona can't be much worse than Jackson. Expecially since I've heard that Jackson was rated number 10 in over violent crime & 7 in homicide in the nation.

The only thing I plan on missing from TN is a few people & a few roads.

And that also makes fat overweight people too. Lack of exercise and boredom being stuck inside. Ask me how I know. To get in shape for XC skiing this winter I have already had to lose 15 pounds.

It's funny, because as a kid I was outside EVERY DAY. I also played soccer in the middle of the summer. As an adult, I of course work indoors, but I have never stayed indoors during my time off because it was "too hot." By the time I'm home from work, the breeze coming off the ocean and the setting sun, even in the summer, make walks and jogging possible, or a nice swim in the pool.

Don't use the "heat" to excuse being overweight. There are far more skinny people in hotter parts of the world than here.

I'm outside all the time, myself. My dad literally LIVED outdoors, planting and tilling his garden, fishing, and just sitting outside in his beloved swing - you could hardly force him to go in.

By the way, here is a list of the "fattest" states in the country for 2008 - Florida is way down the list at #38.... so, we are actually in good shape!
