Default Moving Back to Florida

Hello everyone,

I need some advice on what city in Florida would be most compared to San Diego, California. I have family in Jacksonville, but I don't think I want to relocate there? I was thinking of Tampa. I want to be close to the beach, I have a large dog so any where I go he goes(dog friendly enviroment.) I want to be close to the night life as well as a good community to live in. Any recomendations on any countys near Tampa? Or any City in Florida for that matter? Thanks.

I would say somewhere in Tampa Bay area would be for you. St. Pete is the nice "beach" town, but Tampa probably has more going on - depends what you want. But not sure what element of San Diego you want it compared to.

Default Re: San Diego to Tampa

I would move to Clearwater beach or Madeira Beach. These areas would most likely be most similar to San Diego. Why do you want to leave San Diego?

Default San Diego to Fl?

Sorry to say NONE. I lived in San Diego for over 20 yrs. and have lived in S.W. Fl. for two years now and no city here is comparable. (My job requires me to travel all over the State). Florida is very nice but we are relocating back to San Diego this spring.

I want to move back because the cost of living in San Diego has gotten out of control. I am in Real Estate and the market prices of homes have gone up significantly compared to Florida. Also to be closer to my family. I'd like to slow things down a bit.

Is Clearwater beach close to Tampa? How far is St. Petersberg from Tampa?

Tampa is beautiful, the nightlife is good. One thing to consider the "beach" is the gulf so if you are into waves you'll need to be on the east coast

Don't come to the West Palm Beach area. They are small dog friendly not large dog friendly at all!
