I love Portuguese sweet bread

On he other hand, we can get authentic Cuban style food here just fine, and as for pizza, plenty of New York Italians living around here to make it just as they did up North. Of course, it's not THE SAME SAME, but good enough.

I used to buy it at a supermarket on LI. Actually, many years ago I would make it myself from scratch. I have never seen it here. I suppose I could make it myself again, but it takes a very long time and it's too hot to keep the oven on for hours.

That makes me think of the Chaves Bakery in Bridgeport, CT. Good portuguese breads.
Also, the great authentic Brazillian cuisuine found in Danbury, CT.
Nothing like Pćo de Queijo and Feijoada.

I don`t know Rhode Island and Massachusetts have huge Portuguese communities.
Cities like Fall River mass, New bedford and alot of the surrounding towns.

That's what we have now.....I'll try to get my full before I leave....
Although there are enough snowbirds who can bring down this stuff to us when we are there full time......
My list would be;
Kimulwick rolls for Beef on wicks.
Zweigles hot dogs, (or Saleens)
White hots
Taylor ham....(from N.J.)
I have a Florida friend who owns a cuisinart soft ice cream machine, so we're good there....
Pizza?, I'll get a oven stone and make my own.....maybe make my own wings......Oh, also, how about deep fried turkey?
I don't drink, but up North here, the only beer worth getting is Labatt's Blue....which I do not think they have in Florida....I'll stick to A&W Root Beer.
There..I think I'm covered......hopefully I'll find some new "Florida foods" if there are any.......

I miss Tony Packo's Hungarian hot dogs. Best apricot strudel. But get get to see Jammi Farr on the old MASH shows. One fellow who lived in Naples, came from Toledo OH and would have Packo's ship them down for parties he was having, He moved back. The Greek American Festival. Yes we have one in Naples, and it's nice. The one back home even though we weren't Greek, we knew everybody there. Much of the business community would show up. Other restaurant owners, factory workers. It was an event that was like the kick-off of the holiday season when it was in the middle of September.

That is one great thing about the internet...you can find almost anything you want and have it shipped to you.....it may be more expensive, but if you really want it, it can still be a once in awhile treat.
