I voted beaches, but I agree with all the above. I moved TO Florida, and so far I have not been disappointed.

Only way to get there is by boat so it is never crowded.

i actually love looking at the sky at night. there are so many more stars out at night down here than when i was up north. i don't know if it is less pollution or what it is, but i love the night sky. i love the rains and the fact that it could be raining on one side of the street and clear on the other. i can cross the street if i want something different. i love the short rains as well. i love the little lizards, especially the green ones. (though i am seeing less of them). i love the winters. i love that my tax bill went down this year, as well as my insurance bill.

good times coming, everybody!

Depending on where you lived, it's probably less "light pollution". City lights are reflected by the air/atmosphere, and if you have enough of them, it produces a glow that covers an area like a shell and is brighter than the dimmer stars, effectively blotting them out. It's difficult to notice light pollution when you're in the middle of it. It's most noticeable when you're driving from an area with far less light pollution to a metro area--you'll start to see the glow in the sky long before you get to the metro area. There's plenty of light pollution in Florida, too, but even towards the Southeast Florida coast, where it tends to be the worst, it's not near as bad as the light pollution in the New York City metro area. If you go out west and/or north far enough in Southeast Florida, you can get away from the light pollution fairly easily.

I love the weather. I love being near the water again, instead of landlocked.

I also love that there are so many things to see in do within this state...there's really no reason to leave. Hope to have the opportunity to experience a lot of it in the future.
