I once, in the 7 times I have gone, saw 4 of them playing(?) not far from the Naples pier.

I am an animal lover. I love all animals, anywhere.

I like the warm days in the winter. I also love the convenience of everything. We have everything you need in close proximity.

I totally understand that feeling. When I was in the planning stages of our move, I would leave the overcrowded, dingy looking Philadelphia airport usually feeling stressed. But as soon as I landed in Tampa, I could smell the humidity and sense the brightness and the cleanliness of the airport. I knew (even though I didn't live there yet) that I was home.

"A general absence of alligators, even if you go looking for them" would be a good thing (as it would be true) to put in the "Florida haters threads" as something you can get in northeast but not in Florida. The same thing wouldn't work for snakes, though--I see them just as frequently hiking here in the northeast as I see them in Florida . . . you could specify types of snakes though, or just use iguanas or something.

I don't have a reptile phobia--I quite like them, but I definitely understand the phobia. I had to tell my mom, "No, it's very unlikely that you'll see any alligators" to get her to finally take a trip with us to the Everglades. She ended up enjoying it, even though it must have been one of those "rare" days when a few gators were visible.

Now if I could just get her in a canoe . . .
