Heck ya that sounds good to me! I have not touched a jacket here yet at all. Everyone else is wearing swetshirts in my family, but not me, no way. 50 is great! I already smell the wood stoves burning in the evening.

It was nice as I drove through MD, it was in the 60's...Nice...

Swear to God, I went out today and bought my fish cakes. The first night here I went and got REAL pizza.

I was thinking of you too, her it was 51 degrees when I left this morning for work. The trees are just starting to change color here in MD right now. In a couple weeks they will be in their full glory! It is a brisk sunny day! Even though it is cool, I don't begin wearing a jacket or anything till it gets down in the mid 40s.

Along with your fishcakes, you need to start a warm fire, make some tea, pull up the blanket, and wiggle your toes near the fire. - Isn't that pretty close to the paradise you're looking for?

Nah, it was a very good ride up, uneventful. Good weather. No flats. A lot of road idiots all the way up though.

It seems to be significantly warmer here on the island, probably a good 10-15 degrees warmer at night compared to upper CT and Mass. It's been getting to the mid 50s at night I'd say. Today it only got to the lower 60s or so.

This is the first time I must disagree with you. To get "real" pizza, you should have made a pit stop in downstate NY on your way up, lol

I agree on blobal warming, it was never as hot in FL in 1994 as it has been in the last 5-8 years.

Maybe I will even be able to fit in a historical walking tour of Naples if I push it. Wonder if they have any haunted house sightenings planned for Halloween? I will have to check that out too. No time to travel up to Orlando for the biggie Halloween Bloody Mary Night.
Well, that's a good example: first, note that you can do at least half of those things in Florida--there are apple trees growing in Florida that produce apples and you can pick them if you have permission, you can get egg creams, there are historic walking tours of Naples and other areas, there are supposedly haunted houses (and other locations) that you can visit (in addition to the attractions like Universal's that you mention), etc.--it's not as if you couldn't do those things where you're living now if you wanted to.

BUT, no one would claim that you can do everything in every location, so a logical argument to the effect that Florida stinks because you can't do a number of different things there doesn't really work. There are a lot of things that you can't do no matter where we're talking about.

Which is why I say it's fine if you don't like Florida. You don't have to like it. You can have whatever opinion of it you happen to have. But that's different than an argument that there's something wrong with Florida based on an idea that one can't do a bunch of things in Florida that one can do elsewhere, as if that weren't true of anywhere we could mention . . . and it doesn't help to mention things that you actually could do in Florida as examples, by the way. It's also not true that Florida has no history, no culture, etc. Claims that Florida has no history, no historical structures still standing, no culture, etc. are not opinions, they're factually false.
