Hi,

We are evaluating to move from Europe to Florida due to relocation of my husband's business. I have spent little time in Florida and do not know which areas to look into. We would like to be rather close to Miami, but do not want to live in a big city. We are looking for an area which is safe, family friendly with good schools and where we can have a sigle family home with a garden.

Any suggestions?

You can live in the outskirts. Coral Gables is a nice area that is good for families.

In addition to Coral Gables, look at Pinecrest and Palmetto Bay further south in Miami-Dade County, Doral in northwest Miami-Dade County, and Cooper City and Weston in Broward County.

However, if for business reasons your husband needs to be often in downtown Miami, then Coral Gables is your best bet.

Single family homes in Coral Gables and Pinecrest start at around $600,000.

Regan -- can you be more specific as to what your looking for home-wise? Much more suburban or mixed, near beaches, water-views, quieter ...

Commuting also, where in Miami will your husband be driving to?

Oh and budget too And are you looking to buy or rent?
