Hi, I'm about to retire (15months) ...so I'm looking for a place in a warmer climate..My interests are car cruises ,drag racing etc. P.S. 20 minutes from an Atlantic Ocean beach would be nice. I need a ranch house with 2+ arces and a large garage or barn...any suggestions ? Thanks mike from upstate NY

There is only one answer to this, in or around Daytona Beach. You wont want to live in Daytona, but outside. Lots of events catering towards the car types there. Its where im planning on going too!

I dont know where the closest drag strip is in Daytona. But there is one in far east outskirts of Orlando. But it is not near Daytona. If you move near Cocoa you would be within 30 mins of highway driving to the strip. But I dont know how the cruises there are.

True, no drag racing in daytona. But it is very 'car culture'ish. If friday night to you is 'test and tune' then you may need to look somewhere else. The track in orlando, brandon, or west palm may fit the bill.

Gotta agree about Daytona being the place for the car culture.

Good luck!

Ahhhh... a man after my own heart . , except im only looking for a half acre. Mike, ive settled on living in the Panhandle where homes are far cheaper than downstate and theres Drag Strips spread thruout the Panhandle. Ive have a 1970 big block (built) Corvette which i restored . I hope to get into a Corvette Club when i move there. What classic car do you have ?
