With all of the negative things being said about Florida and living here. I wanted to post that this is one person who is very happy to be staying.
After almost 5 months of delays waiting for the final details of the promotion and transfer to Atlanta.
We have decided it is time to stop putting our lives on "hold"
We have "terminated the contract" on the house we were building.
I am very happy to be staying in a home we love, and not having to leave all of our friends and the gardens I have worked so hard on.
I am also very happy to be able to continue the volunteer work that is so important to me. I am already looking at new volunteer projects to add to my list.

So for everyone that is so unhappy here and want out, I sincerely hope things work out for you.
But this is one happy lady to be staying.

Karla

Karma Baby – things happen for a reason - you must have not wanted to leave the great things you have and they must not wanted you to go either. It sounds like you’re really happy about it and that’s worth celebrating – congrats

Ralph

You can stay anywhere that makes you happy. If I find enough reasons to stay in FL, I will do so for a while longer. I am gonna be checking to see if I can find a $50k foreclosure deal in a good neighboorhood.

thanks so much evey,nomoresnow,vpcats,jammie,shores9 and cil

I am happy, I feel as if there is a weight off my shoulders.
funny thing is with some of the research I have done my husband could get a job anywhere probably making $25k to $30k more, but you know it's only money
that alone won't make you happy
so its nice to say
"We chose to stay here "

Good luck!

My thought exactly. NE Florida is more like Georgia as south Florida is Latin America. You have a while before the southern Florida disease destroys your area too.
