Were would it be better to live the Panhandle or Palm Bay??? Which is prettier. I am married and have 5 children looking for a house for about 150,000- 170,000 a 4 bedroom. I looked on realtor.com and seem afforadable. Is there anything I need to look out for in either of these areas?

The panhandle is a pretty big area! But, in general, the panhandle is a lot more rural/hilly/more trees than Palm Bay.
Palm Bay is generally closer to the ocean with newer homes but probably less "character" than most panhandle cities. |

I agree with previous comment...you have to be more specefic when referring to the panhandle...it can take you 3-5 hours to drive through it!
Most developers say the panhandle is about the only place to be developed in Florida. I just moved near Pensacola last year and swear I see a new building popping up monthly. I have enjoyed it, but it has taken some getting used to. |

THe best bang for your money is the Panhandle...
Is less expensive, larger lots, less crime, less pollution, just less crowded. All the perks of the metro area can be found either in Panama City, Destion, Fort Walton or Pcola. I visited Palm Bay many times and is a great place but is crowded, so my choice is nprthwest Florida. o |

I did not realize it was that big. I dont know I just wish I could see pictures of the towns so I had a better idea of where to move. I keep reading how expensive FL is but when I go to realtor.com I see lots of affordable nice houses I just looked at spring hill and there was some nice ones there too. I guess I will have to surf around a bit to see if I can find some pictures of these towns.

Pensacola seems to have a lot of 4 bedroom houses for reasonable prices. AND there is a glut of them on the market, which might make for good bargains.

It's such a great time to buy...I would never rent in this market...also pictures are good for looking at houses but a 2-3 day trip to a few towns may help. I remember moving here and falling in love with a house through the pics only to walk in and discover it was a hole.
For price the panhande can't be beat and the beaches are great! |

Yeah. I figured we will have to actually visit the town. My husband will need a job there too. Right now he sells cars (Lexus's) I'm guessing/hoping it would not be too hard to get a job down there selling cars. I figure once our house sells here we can rent for a month or 2 a cheap house down there till we find one to buy.
So much to figure out and plan![]() |

You will not find a home large enough for 7 people in that price range in Palm Bay, but there is a Lexus dealership in Melbourne, next town over!!
