I LOVE farming!
all I'm saying is don't criticize if you've never been here, but we do agree on one thing for sure---GO RAYS!!
Also: found this article in Coastal Living Magazine...
"To find the finest beaches in the world, intrepid Americans might head to Saint Tropez on the French Riviera or perhaps Australia's famed Gold Coast. But the ultimate sun-drenched powder-sand fantasy lies not on some distant shore, but on the coast of Alabama and Northwest Florida."

Our area is considered the best kept secret, so visit and find why I have enjoyed over 10 years in the area and this is it. I won't relocate, is just a piece of paradise close to everything. Best place in the world for me and I traveled the world/.....

I think the traffic from Holly-Navarre is pretty bad in rush hour, so could take you awhile to go either way - to Pensacola or to Ft. Walton Beach area.
Good luck!

How long did you live in Albuquerque? We have been here five years......it was my husband's idea. I didn't reallize that I took it for granted having a beach close by. I really miss it!
Is it really as beautiful as the pictures show? Making me want to book a flight tomorrow!

Navarre is great area that continues to grow and still has a bit of a small town. Yes we have a number of hospitals in the area. The Andrews Institute is the best one and Baptist and Sacred Heart Hospitals are at the top of the list. Should be able to get a job, just think Eglin AFB, Pcola NAS, and Hurlburt Field might be another source of employment.
The schools in Navarre are A+, this is one of the best privileges of the area. Visit the following sites for info. My best advise is to visit and see if this is the place for your family, I believe that you will enjoy it and relocate.
Best of luck...

Thanks again, for taking the time to point out the hospitals and school information. I will check out the military bases as well. You're the best!

Sunrico, do you live on the strand or the "mainland?" I have tried to find out about the Holly by the Sea HOA. It seems so reasonable in fees for what is offered. Many houses for sale in the area.

Hi Patti,
We were in Albuquerque about three years. Couldn't wait to get back to the Gulf coast "farmland"... From the Alabama coast to Panama City I know have some of the most beautiful beaches. Yes...it's as beautiful as the pictures. If you want to live on or near the beaches, make sure you check how much your insurance will be or if your carrier covers that area before you purchase a house.
Sunrico is correct about checking Eglin, Hurlburt and Pensacola Naval Station for nursing jobs. Not positive but I think they currently have direct-hire capabilities so you wouldn't have to go through all the red tape for civil service jobs.
Good luck with your move. Kiss Albq "good-bye" for me too...

No, but there are plenty of beautiful beaches that match the photo you posted across the bay in Pinellas.

I heard South Carolina is worth living in also.
Very similar to Panhandle area with lots of "real Americans."

??Well I lived in Pinellas Co. for 21 years...
please post the matching photos of 20 foot sand dunes, coastal dune lakes and emerald water 'cuz I never found those places there
Caladesi Island is the closest I know of and there are no dunes or lakes...
My point, that was missed, is that it was suggested that North Florida is all farmland and it's just not true. Nor is it a lot of redneck trailer parks.

Dear On-da-Beach,
I didn't miss your point.........and thank you so much for sharing the picture. One thing I have already learned on my short time on this message board is that some people want to discourage relocation to Florida. Maybe it's because they know it really is paradise.......and don't want to share.
