Default Florida Economy

Hey guys...

I'm new here!

I'm thinking of moving to the Dunedin area.

I own a small manufacturing plant in Cleveland, OH. With all the
foreign competition, (CHINA) my business is'nt doing very well.
I'm thinking of closing up and moving to the Tampa area. I don't
want to start a business again, but rather find a job working
for somebody else. Hopefully, changing professions to be away
from the foreign competition. How is the Tampa/Dunedin economy?

I've been a lurker here for awhile.....I think alot of posters from
Florida just don't get it. The foreign competition from China is
DESTROYING the manufacturing economy in the USA. Every day in
Cuyahoga/Cleveland County 43 people move away! So many companies
are closing or are in SURVIVAL mode that the prospects of a steady
job are nill!

If I'm going to move I want a GREAT climate, hence, Florida.
While vacationing in Florida I've seen so much construction and growth.
These are signs of a HEALTHY economy! Travel to OHIO and see
what I mean. They took down a steel plant to put up a MALL!

I WISH MY HOUSE WOULD DOUBLE IN VALUE IN A FEW YEARS!!!
SO WHAT IF TAXES GO UP!! YA KNOW WHAT.....

My taxes go up every year too!

The City of Cleveland is raising water rates......ya want to know why?
People are using LESS water and they can't cover their costs!!!!

Bad Government is EVERYWHERE!

The TRUE sign of a HEALTHY economy in any area is the cost
of housing.

The main QUESTION.....If the house burned to the ground, what would
it cost to rebuild the house on the same lot?

In Cleveland, it would cost DOUBLE the house value pre-fire.

I've been looking at house values in the Dunedin area and what
people are asking 350K for, could easily be re-built for 150 to 200K.

THAT IS A HEALTHY ECONOMY!!!

So......

How hard is it to get a job in Dunedin that pays 80K a year?

I've managed people for 20+ years.

I don't want to eat rice 7 days a week like I would have to if
competing with the Chinese.

I'm a VERY hard worker that doesn't mind working overtime.
