Woh--and speaking of that, here in Jersey City I just went outside with my ski jacket on--it's been cold for the last week/week and a half, and it's almost 65 degrees after 4:00 p.m. here. I guess it's getting warmer all down the east coast this weekend. Sure didn't need the ski jacket.

I'm not a spring chicken, I have graduate degrees in the humanities (including emphases on sociology and cultural studies), and I read voraciously. It's probably safe to assume that I'm familiar with the phrase "Indian summer". However, on the most common usage of that term, we're not experiencing an Indian summer in the NYC area at the moment. The point I was making was that, like Florida, it had been unusually cold in the NYC area for this time of year, and like Florida, it was subsequently getting back to more normal temperatures (and also that I hadn't really paid attention to it until I went outside with my ski jacket on ). Similar fronts (I'm assuming that it wasn't from the same fronts at the same time, although that's possible) were occurring simultaneously.

Rance, moderator from AK was married this week in Jacksonville on the beach to another CD member, by a CD member! You can blame him for the cold weather last week, since he left yesterday and the weather is now warmer.

Me too! anything below 75 and I am inside with a blanket.

I like to see people who hate the heat of Florida complain about being cold.

Now you will now what it is like here 9 months a year!!

Not be sarcastic, but this crap is what we get for 9 months and much worse.

Today we had rain, snow, sleet, rain then back to snow and already talking about late school starts for tomorrow because of the freezing rains.

Keep warm Florida!

When we were kids our parents took us to the Citrus Tower to see all the orange groves, last time we went to the towers we could not see many oranges trees at all, I believe this was from the cold spell you got many years ago that froze them out.

Hope this does not hurt any more orange groves.

Only essential things will get done tomorrow night as the temp plummets into the 30's. We may not set a record but it will be most nippy with the wind blowing.

You wouldn't be referring to me would you? (after all the great tips and links I gave you)

I finally got my Lakeland Electric bill down and now it's going to be high again (electric heat), at least I had 1 cheap month. That's my main complaint.

I had the heater cranking last night and it will be on tonight for sure (probably every night this week).

It was 48 in Naples when I got up for work at 4:30 AM. It was 69 inside the house. No, I didn't put the heat on. I wore my flannel pj's and when I went outside on the lanai to smoke (yes, at 4:30 AM), I just put on a fleece robe and was fine.

I am beginning to think I must be some kind of freak, at least as far as living in Florida goes.
