We went and looked at a house in that area. It is a rural area in the process of being built up. There is even some horse friendly neighborhoods, but they are pricey. The one thing I would say you have to look out for is swampy area's.

I knew I could count on you for some info on the area. One of the houses is at the start of N Mobley Rd I believe. It is a very rural area but I thought the commute for Husband wouldn't be too bad and I might be able to set something up local for my Yoga? Since it is part of Pasco is that good? I'm still trying to get a hold on all the different areas and sub-areas. We're going to be in St Pete in about 2 weeks and we're going to check out everywhere around Tampa and maybe some stuff on the East coast. Thanks so much for all the help
There are some really pretty parts here, and it's probably a nice place to live, but doesn't really strike me as a very good place to set up a business - too far removed from anything.

Your right about the business aspect if you were going to setup right in Odessa. It will take a few more years to fill in but as I mentioned the surrounding areas like Westchase, Waterchase, Citrus Park and Carrolwood are only a few mile to the south and are exploding with new businesses and services. There are plenty of people in these areas and they want it all from great tailors to salons to exercise/fitness and restaurants

Hi sorry I didn’t get back sooner it’s been a hectic few days.

First so that you don’t mistake anything there is N Mobley and S Mobley – both are in Hillsborough County which is a good thing from an insurance perspective. Pasco is getting hit with insurers not wanting to do business there because of sink holes – a condition that exists in some parts of Florida due to the underground voids that exist creating the potential for excessive ground settling or actual collapse.

If you look at that point on the map (beginning at N Mobley) and go just a few miles to the southwest along Race Track Road you will find a booming area centered around 2 communities called Westchase (off of Linebaugh Ave) and Waterchase (off of Race Track Rd). Similarly if you take Gunn south into the Citrus Park area. You can even look further north for a business opportunity in southern Pasco which has experienced a big boom in the last few years. Either way there are plenty of opportunities/locations to open a business within 5 miles. And for your husband the commute to down town will be at worst 30-40 minutes (usually less)

Thanks to all who gave some insights on Odessa. Unlike Yogini, I am not starting a business, I just wanted a pretty, safe, and family friendly community in which to live. It sounds like Odessa will be perfect for me. Thanks again.

That's interesting. Where exactly is it in Odessa? Has anyone ever lived near one of those? Does that mean you are going to hear guns going off all the time?

MARGEL - it is a lovely area, and I think you will enjoy living there.

YOGINI - You might want to personally visit a few of the different areas some of us have recommended to you. We all live in different places, and have different perspectives on what we like, or what we think might work for you. Now you need to see some things for yourself and see what makes your heart "sing."

Default I'm coming down

Gypsychic-
I'm actually coming down in about 2 weeks to check it out. We are going to look at a lot of areas just to see if anything feels like home. West coast and East coast and everything in between I really appreciate all the places that have been recommended and info that has been shared. Thanks again to all that have helped

Noise isnt really an issue unless you live right on top of the club. Its a VERY nice outfit...upscale would probably be a better word.
