Allena is on a distinguished road
Cool What parts of Florida are safe, convenient to my needs, etc?

I was born in Florida (Tampa) but I've lived in TN all of my life.
My aunt and her family live in Tampa still and according to her it's very unsafe. In fact she carries a gun in her purse everywhere she goes.
And to my knowledge she isn't the paranoid type.
I have allergy problems and eczema and the cold weather makes my eczema way worse.
In fact, I love the tropical weather of florida. I love the smell of the salt water, and the warm sun.
But I'm not sure if the heat will be too much for my boyfriend.
He's from Ireland originally and he thinks 75 degrees is sweltering.
Also, we're a young couple so preferably somewhere cheap and convenient lol
So if anyone would be generous enough to provide me some information I'd be extremely grateful.

Thanks!

Jacksonville seems like it would meet your needs and it would not be as sweltering to your boyfriend as other parts of Florida. It also provides many employment opportunities.

That's a good recommendation - definitely worth giving it a look!

Oh, the irony.

Someone like that will probably be miserable in Florida. I'm surprised he's not miserable in Tennessee for that matter.

Have you checked out the west coast? Most places right on the coast have relatively small average temperature changes throughout the year--like Florida; you're on the coast (obviously), and you can pick which temperature range you want--from fairly warm throughout most of the year in Southern California (and with low humidity) to fairly cool (but not cold) throughout most of the year from the San Francisco area all the way up through Washington; and you can control just how urban to rural you want to be. There's going to be a similar span of crime statistics up and down the coast, and the west coast is similar to Florida on the "convenience" end, with the same things lacking in most places--like public transportation, and all the same amenities (for whatever you might want).
