I am a Florida Cracker and have lived in Pasco all my life. The insurance rates have become obscene, traffic is a nightmare, (According to 20/20 report US HWY 19 through Pasco County is the most dangerous highway in the COUNTRY), and taxes are high. There was an article in todays paper that they are probably going to increase impact fees for building a new home to $13,000. Hernando is ok, lots of new construction but homeowners insurance is still very high. My cousin and family bought a nice size house on 5 acres in Citrus however her husband commutes almost 1 1/2 hours to and from work each day. There homeowners insurance isn't too bad either. It depends on where you want to live and how much you can afford to spend and how far you want to commute to and from work.

Hernando county homeowners have been hit with high 300 per increase in homeowners insurance. due to sink hole risk and flooding risk. I have family member who is selling because of this.

I have heard a lot about sink hole risk and flooding risk..I know with flooding here in WV you can go to the court house before building a home and find out if it is at risk for flooding due to 100 year census is this the same in florida? Also, how do you go about finding out about sink hole risk? thanks

homeowner's insurance is becomg astronomical in Pasco county because of the sinkholes. check the location before you buy, many houses in pasco are in the sinkhole zone.

Are they located in one area, or are they spread out?
A nudist resort is a decent comminute and not to be hid.
