You know when I lived in Peru, my first year there was bad because everything was different for me and I could not understand a lot of the customs and culture. The biggest blow was Christmas time. Peak of summer over there. I put up a raggedy tree and was wearing shorts and tank tops and it was the weirdest feeling, not dumb, but weird. But it was only weird to me who had grown up in NY and was always freezing cold at that time of the year. I've been in Florida for 12 years and a shorts and tank top Christmas season is still strange, but not dumb.
Some things are just different in different parts of the world. That does not make them any less imortant or less valid for those people for whom it's normal.

For our neck of the woods:
Weather Underground is predicting lows in the 30's for Monday and Tuesday.

I don't mind when it gets cold here because that is about the only change of seasons we have in Florida.

Not true. The seasons are more subtle but they are there.

A cold front is definitely here. I have the windows open because I love the cooler weather. And it is cheaper than running the a/c.

If you think about it, Florida's Christmas weather is very authentic. The weather in Orlando in December is far closer to December weather in Bethlehem, Israel than the Christmas weather in Chicago or New York City ever will be.
We've just been brainwashed by Bing Crosby and Victorian novelists to think that snow everywhere is how Christmas is supposed to be when it's actually not terribly historically accurate.
