From a former 5th generationer from SW FL, anything below 75 was freaking freezing to me! I was in jeans and sweatshirts bundled tightly in a jacket, shivering my butt off and complaining the whole time. You're from NY, you're used to it. Those of us that have lived there our whole lives aren't.

Now I live a few states north of FL. It's 18 degrees where I live right now. And I adore it!! It was a huge change for me to move, but I'm so glad I did. It took me a couple years to adjust, but I have. But honestly, for those that have only lived there their whole life, yes, it's freaking freezing!

I have been checking because I am going up for Thanksgiving. However, if you live farther south but more inland, the temps can even be colder than where I was on LI. Many a time Ga. and Tn. got snow when we only got rain on the coastline.

Anyway, I am still enjoying what little "cold" I can get here from this cold front. It feels great to be able to wear jeans and a sweatshirt. When it got to 42 one night, we even put on the heat. It felt great.

The high for the next 2 days in NY is 35. Our average for this time of the year is 50. Way below average temps. I feel like it should be January lol

Thank you planetsurf, that basically sums up what I was trying to say. Everybody has there own likes and dislikes on the weather. Some like it hot, some like it cold. Please don't tell other people what is and isn't cold, because that may not be true for all!

Now, since the cold snap has passed, I see no reason to continue with this thread.

I kinda agree with DailyJournalist beacause I've lived in Miami for my whole life and every time this happens 2-3 times every year where north reaches the 10s central the 20s and south the 30s they act like its the first time in 50 yrs, but it still is cold for us.

I love the cold weather. What concerns me are the farmers who have to rush and try and save their crops in the cold weather.

What cracks me up is that the weather is always better down here when it is winter up there. Everyone is tired of the snow and cold. I don't see as many posts complaining about the weather up north when it is in the middle of spring, summer, or fall, but when it becomes blazing hot and humid down here for most of the year, meaning, the non-winter months...

I'd have to agree that Florida is at its utmost best, most enjoyable peak during northern winter time. The rest of the year, NY isn't a bad place to be weather wise.
