The ONLY reason I have come to experience that the the winter is best in SW Florida is because it is not the Spring, Summer, and Fall with it's 90+ degrees and 90+ HUMIDITY.

I should be grateful for small favors?

It's been beautiful here, ALOT of rain latley and the tornado sirens have started going off after a fall and winter of silence but it's at the doorstep of Spring and I'm happy.

We had the scrape the car windows yesterday and today it's in the 60's and the rest of the week the low 70's. Everything is starting to turn green and the depression of winter is wearing off.

Life is good.

It is almost a spiritual experience. Life goes on. There is the old age/dying of Fall, the death in the Winter, and the renewal/rebirth and hope for the world anew in Spring.

Here it is all the same. Nothing ever changes. Time passes and you never know it does. I think that is why so many old people come to Florida to live out the rest of their years before they die.

Me too. We had 5 months of great weather this year, I guess that is better than the normal 2 months.

When I moved up here from Florida and drove down I-24 through the mountains of Chattanooga and got to see all the colors of the trees, The oranges, reds, browns, It was beautiful, I couldn't imagine ever NOT seeing the fall and the colors of autumn again.

What happened to the small favors from a couple of posts before?

We've had a good long stretch of pretty nice weather in SE FL this year. Longer than any other "winter" I remember here (past 12 years) but my AC has never been "off".

This is our 8th year in FL and the latest any of our lilies and other flowers have emerged (as well as azalea bloom) here in NE FL since we've been here.

And FL winters are awesome--nowhere else on the east coast can you put up xmas lights in your shorts.

When I was a little kid and went to summer camp, we used to have Christmas in July. We would put up decorations, trim tree, sing caroles, give presents -- then go for a swim. I thought it was a dumb idea as a 10 year old. Little did I know half a century later I would be celebrating the REAL December Christmas with the same trappings and wardrobe. I feel the same way today as I did as a 10 year old -- it's dumb. Sorry, guys.
