With all the uncertainty that is on going will you be celebrating Thanksgiving day with the family? or doing something else?

Im not sure I understand what you mean by your question ; what sort of uncertainty could stand in the way of giving thanks / sharing Thanksgiving Day with ones family this year ? Thank you.

We've got a longstanding tradition of brunch at the Peabody hotel, and we'll continue that this year. We've been fortunate to not have been affected by job loss and have a decent cash cushion to fall back on.

Instead of Thanksgiving with hubby's family this year, we are staying home and having MY family come. My dad died this year so it just seems more appropriate to have people come to us and for me to be with my for Thanksgiving dinner (we normally do a lunch with my parents and grandma). My husbands family was invited, but declined bc they think its rude that we aren't coming to them (I'm not leaving my mom on her first major holiday after her husband of 26 years died).

Happy Thanksgiving Sunrico and everyone

We will be going to my Mother-in-laws as usual.

My condolences on the loss of your Father Tiffany You are doing the right thing by being there with your Mom. Having your family together will help you all through this first holiday with out him.

Tiffany condolences as well on your loss. My aunt as well as a dear family friend both passed this summer and they will be in my thoughts.
As for thanksgiving dinner we always come together as a family.
Sunrico I would think hard economic times would bring most people together.

If I'm in Florida, we go to my sister's in that "ghetto" of Palm Springs. Usually someone tags one of our cars before we're done eating. (Just kidding, but watch out for the guys trying to wash your windshield with an old newspaper.)

But no Thanksgiving for us in Florida this year--we just got back home from there. We're also probably not going to the parade. The weather will be okay, contra predictions over last weekend, but we're not sure we're in the mood to battle the crowds; we'll just watch it on television--we've seen it plenty of times in person anyway. So we're probably just eating deli sandwiches at home, lol. I guess I'll get cajun turkey since it's Thanksgiving.
