I am a born and bred New Englander, but my husband has landed a job in Weston, Fl. I am doing as much research as I can beofre moving (6 weeks or less) and would love any advice that others can give.

We will probably rent rather than buy, at least at first. Are there any neighborhoods that I should look at, or avoid like the plague? I am hoping for my husband to have a commute of less than an hour, so that limits my time choices a bit.

Any words of wisdom from other transplants would be very appreciated.

Default Weston

I am living in NH myself and love it but changing for a job in the Ft. Myers area (moving in three weeks). Anyhow, my uncle lives in Pembroke Pines and moved there from Weston...He says he prefers Pembroke Pines anyday. I just visited in April and it is a very nice town...I don't know much as far as details but I hope that helps

Breinn,

I love to talk with other New Englanders! What state are you from?
As I've mentioned several times on this forum, I moved here in 2004 from southern NH with my husband and three children. I live in New Tampa and absolutely love it here! I figured if the "Old Man of the Mountain" could leave NH, then I finally could too!
Good luck with your search!

I think the hardest thing for us is the no change of seasons and we havent found much good food and there arent many dunkin donuts where we live I have never been to Weston. Good luck with your move. This is a good time to move its not too hot but it wont feel like the holidays. I hope all goes well!
