But the big increases aren't happening everywhere, including here. Florida saw a slight drop in overseas visitors in 2006 from the previous year, from 4.4 million in 2005 to 4.3 million last year. In addition, state officials are expecting 2006 data still being analyzed to show a nearly 5 percent drop in visitors from the United Kingdom, the state's No. 2 source of international tourists.
The number is big 4.3 million people visit the state in 2006.....
Nine countries, according to the department, sent more tourists to the U.S. in 2006 than they ever had before: Mexico, South Korea, Australia, Spain, Ireland, India, China, Denmark and the Dominican Republic.
Orange county is making big bucks: 'Solid' January brings nearly $13.5 million in resort-tax collections.

It's a fact that south Florida is now too expensive for tourists and has few attractions exclusive to the sate. Other than Miami Beach, what else awaits visitors that you can't find elsewhere? And the beach isn't that great anyway. I hope the smart travellers spend their money elsewhere.

Well, I am thinkin of startin an Redneck Bed N Breakfast in my singlewide in the deep woods near Wacahoota for an authentic cultural experience fer them European tourists who is tired of the artificial glitz most Fla tourist attractions.
I gots my Elvis paintins on velvet on the wall, along side my talkin Billy Bass, a good soundtrack of hard core country music, several ole cars in the front yard wif pit bulls chained to em. It is in high hammock woods wif lots of tall palms, magnolias, and big oaks and has got a fishin hole at the bottom of the hill
Will have a pig roast every weekend where my guests will hobnob wif the locals. Only blanks will be used by those firing their pistols into the air around the campfire though for safety reasons.
However now it is still a work in progress. Once I market it on the net I anticipate to be booked solid.

Blanks? So much for authenticity.

What's with the dozer in the front yard? Sadly this place is 10000% better than any "luxury" condo in South Florida.

lol, and the trees add privacy. In Boca Raton we had a cookie-cutter house, and everyone had to observe everyone as they went to the mailbox. It is nice to see real trees again, instead of bulldozed land with an identical palm in front of each house.

The Dozer is a rental. (The Red Dog Beer in the cab is jus fer show) I was diggin sum ponds, ditchin and crownin the dirt road access, and clearin a small pasture. It is on 15 acres. It is back in the deep woods down long dirt roads. Got super privacy.
Like the country song says " If I cant pizz in the front yard, I dont wanna live there".
