I am a single male in my mid thirties moving down to the Tampa area next month. I will be looking to rent and many people have recommended the Hyde Park area. I keep hearing South Tampa is the place for me. I would appreciate anyone's opinion or description of that area. I would like to be somewhat close to the downtown area but still live in a "neighborhood type" atmosphere. Is this available in Hyde Park?

Thanks in advance for any people you can offer!

Jeff

There are cheaper areas to live , Its alot of older homes there. I would look at near where you are going to work. There is alot of poorer homes in that area to. Where will you work? That is most iimportant ?
I love Brandon area, My 2 sons 36, 38 love it there.

Hyde Park is REALLY nice....lots to do...great restaurants and young professionals!! Still close enough to the beaches. We moved here from chicago a few months ago and Hyde Park felt closest to a downtown neighborhood in the area. good luck!
