I live in the panhandle of Florida (Bay County), and I personally believe that this is an extension of Alabama. This particular area of Florida is extremely southern. Other parts may not be.

Florida is like Texas. The east and central parts of Texas are very much Southern, the Southern part is a extension of Mexico, and the west is southwestern. Florida is a mix of regions as Texas is.

Being nice is annoying? Maybe you have the wrong set of priorities?

Nah, I wish. PARTS of it are, like some of Oviedo, Sanford, etc... but overall, everyone is for the most part from somewhere else (it's still FL), which to me, doesnt make it southern. But I do find people in Oviedo to be far nicer than East Orlando, Altamonte, etc... I'm not sure what the difference is, but the seem to be far more friendly.

I'm sure it gets more Southern-ness as you go inland goes the same for anywhere in Florida.

Yes I know we both lived in the Acreage. I lived over there my entire life. Do you think Tampa or Orlando Southern?
(I found it Chelsa).

I have spent a lot of time in FL from coast to coast, except the panhandle, and I never really thought of the west coast as being overly friendly by any means, to the point where it was "annoying" b/c they were apologizing all the time, lol. That's a new one! Not that I dont believe you but that's the first I have ever heard about it.

It's not that their to friendly it's that I'm always getting I'm sorry for things that don't need appoligizing.

Example: Which is not a good one but it's the only one I can think off the top of my head. Yesterday I went to blockbuster to rent movies the cashier asked me if I wanted a bag and I said "no thanks". When I was leaving I thought those bags make good garbage bags later on and I said "on second thought I'll take a bag". She said "I'm sorry" something I should of said. I said " don't worry about it I'd figure I'll need it down the road". Then she said I'm sorry again when I was leaving.

To much of anything is bad. I feel like their killing me with kindness by appoligizing. Like when your in a relationship and you don't like it when the other person appoligizes so much for things they should'nt have.
