Oh, yeah...and that 25" that's fallen on several occassions...that's cumulative, remember. I had snow higher than my garbage can ever since it started snowing this year. They just now melted the week we were visiting FL. THANK GOD! Now I can actually see when I pull out of my driveway, instead of just "hoping for the best!"

The bottom line is that DOWNSTATE NY's weather is vastly different than upstate. In fact, in the past 10 or 15 years you are more likely to see a total of maybe 6 inches all winter, rather than 25. When was the last time you had 60 or 65 degrees in January or February? That seems to be happening now almost every year. There is less and less snow downstate now. Winters have gotten much warmer than they were in the past. Again, it's a different place uptstate.

Well, sorry, but I don't like 80s. It was enough for 3 months in summer in NY. I cannot take it all year. It puts me to sleep. I have no desire to go out or do anything but sleep.

Whatever. Different strokes for different folks. Don't envy me being here in Florida. I envy YOU. I would have moved to Syracuse in heartbeat rather than Naples, Florida, if my husband had gotten a job there instead.

Great points Margel - I feel exactly the same way - I am not moving to Florida under this illusion of grandier, I will continue to work, but I think/hope, I will be working toward something, my own home, which I can not afford here.

I have to add though - that some of these posts are soooo rude. I don't think that the OP was being insensitive about what they were saying, but more talking directly to people who come from the NE looking for this Utopia. For all the rude talk about northerners, there seems to be a lot of rudeness flying directly from those who claim to be Floridians. Double edged sword. You shouldn't tell someone their rude in a rude way.
