On a day like today, Bike Week, and then Biketoberfest in October, and the fact that you can ride nearly 365 days a year. Somehow, all the rest seems to fade away when you're going over that bridge in Lake County with water on both sides of the bridge near sunset. Tomorrow we'll get back to the insurance, bugs, hurricanes, taxes, traffic, etc.

I am so over people saying you have to be rich to live in Florida.
Granted South Florida has higher taxes and insurance but you don't have to be rich to live everywhere in Florida
If you are looking to move to Florida do your homework check out the different areas
We are in Jax
I am a SAHM to our 3 dogs and I do volunteer work
we live on *gasp* one income that is **double gasp** under $80k a year
we run our A/C when it is hot and the heat when it is cold
and I wouldn't consider our house a "shack"
and before someone(hmmm )says you must have done a "creative loan" we did a fixed 5.23 mortgage 3 years ago and only owe 17 more years.

you don't have to be rich to live everywhere in Florida

No, there are always the cookie cutter slums with $200k houses, where your kids have no yard to play in and they have to play in the street. And where you live 10 feet from a child molester. Funny how you have to risk the safety of your children for "cheap" housing.

If I could have time in a bottle. Floridia would go back to the way it was. Even five years ago would be good.

50 years ago and you won't hear me complaining! I would be upset about the smoking and segregation, but Florida was otherwise a great place. And I already know how to live without central air!

Moderator cut: link

This is the kind of house design I like, you fit it into the landscape, not bulldoze the place and stick a mountain-like Mc Mansion. Florida is flat, why not make your home long and low?
