nursing colleges in florida
We plan to relocate to florida within 2 years. My daughter will be going to nursing school and I would like to hear people's opinions of what school to attend to become an R.N. as well as the best areas in florida for job opportunities for nursing careers.

University of Central Florida has an entire college of nursing. UCF is also building a new medical school as part of a "medical city" at Lake Nona, in Orlando. UCF is one of the best options for nursing in the state of Florida.
A R.N. will have excellent job opportunities in Florida, so the choice is yours where you want to go. Orlando and Tampa are probably the best two locales, but everywhere is good for a R.N.

Like everywhere Nursing schools are overcrowded with a lack of teachers.
It is going to be hard to get in no matter where she goes.
If I was going to suggest at this time I would say, have her get all of her pre reqs done at any college, then try some of the online Regis programs.

Rasmussen College also offers Nursing, even a degree as an R.N. They have a few campuses here in Florida as well as the On-Line classes.

The University of North Florida and also Florida Community College at Jacksonville both have great nursing programs. They are located in Jacksonville, FL.

Check out statistics at the schools in the area. Some have far better board pass rates than others, and not all are accredited by the NLN. It'd be a shame to put in that time and work and not actually be able to get licensed at the end of it.

I would suggest looking into USF and UF.
Some areas I would suggest for job opportunities for nurses are Tampa, Orlando and its surrounding areas, and Gainesville.
