We have given up for the time looking for an annual rental in florida, but are now on a new search. Looking for Seasonal rental, southwestern Central Florida anywhere from Sarasota area to Fort Myers area. We have found several on our own, but nothing yet that has everything we need. Pool is a must, fenced yard for our pets is a must and reasonable rates. We want to stay in the $2200-$2500 a month area. We plan on staying from December 1, 2007 thru March 1, 2008. If anyone knows of any property, please advise.
Thank you,
Lisa Nichols

I think that will be tough in that price range. That is HIGH SEASON in Florida, especially in those areas. My in-laws come down each year for one month and they have been paying $6,000 for one month in a 2 bed condo with pool in Bradenton Beach or Anna Maria area. This year they came for one month this month and rented a DUMP for $900 per week.

Good luck.

Are you kidding me. What part of "this is for the hugely rich" did you not understand? Gosh. I am sorry.

Check out Punta Gorda & Port Charlotte. Homes for rent out the wahzoo & at that price range. Right now [it will definitely go up come Nov.] that type of thing is about $1800-$2000 in a decent area.

The two specifics...pool & fence may be a little challenging.

Condos are dirt cheap to rent right now & many allow pets.

The issue you will into w/ renting a home is that the owner is going to want you to take on their prop taxes & compensate for the ridiculous HOI in SW FL.

Port Charlotte & North Port may be the best places to look. They are not glamorous, but may have what you need for that price.

Forget Fort Myers.

Call a realtor & test the waters. They need the work.
