Hello All,
I have one month - February - when I can work remotely. I have an idea to go to Florida, live there this month and work from there.
So I am looking for a place which is
- worm enough to swim and sunbath this February
- has boarding houses/room rentals/secure hostels with good internet and cell phone connection
- has public transportation (I don't have a car)
- in crime safe area
Do you know bout such place? I thought about Sarasota, but not sure if I find there all I need. I heard that there is a boarding house in West Palm Beach, but I can not find it on the internet.

Thanks in advance.

Key West Florida would be a great option.

I thought about Key West, but it seems to be too expensive. Are there reasonably priced places (I mean about 1200-1300 per month) with good internet connection?

From the NDOC website: as of today the water temperature in Key West is 69.3 degrees, Naples is 68.0, and St. Pete is 63.9. We have had several cold fronts (30s and 40s nights). When we had our pool in NY and first opened it in the summer, the water temps were always in the high 60s. I found that pretty cold. Even my kids couldn't stay in that water for very long without their lips turning blue.

The sun is still very strong in SW Florida, even when the air temps are only in the 70s. You would be fine just sitting on the beach, but maybe you should find someplace with a heated pool? Sorry.

There's a newer hotel chain called Value Place that's got locations in Ft. Myers and the Homestead area of Miami that might work. They come with kitchenettes and run about $200-$300 a week for rental.

ValuePlace.com - Extended Stay Hotel, Extended Stay Hotels, Weekly Rates

I'm told they're a bit fussy about security, which is actually a good thing when you're talking about budget lodging and wanting to make sure your fellow guests are honest people.
