Default If you graduated before 2004

I don't think it was even close to what you describe but that is OK, just keep exaggerating as if that proves your point.
The NYC Regents Diploma was not required to graduate. You could graduate with a local school diploma and the requirements for that were not as strict.

I went to PRIVATE school in Manhattan and this school required its students to get Regents diplomas or you got the door.

What was your major in HS, if you graduated in NYS?

Apparently, they no longer use the term "major", but it's now called Advanced Designation. Ok. You can see that more than 5 tests are required, even without that Advanced Designation. Back in my day (1960s), only 2 years of Math was required for the Regents diploma. I took a 3rd year of Math (Regents) as my "major". I also took 3 years of Spanish and 3 years of Latin. Languages were my second "major". I took Regents in both Spanish and Latin. Yes, they give Regents exams in Latin.

Yes, it was a lot more than 5 tests. Sorry, guy.

NYS Regents

As far as the heat and humidity, I think the weather is perfect except when it gets cold like it has been lately. I guess that is why I moved to Florida though.

The congestion I experience in south Florida is similar to Long Island.

And oh yeah, google crime rate comparison and you'll see Long Island's is a lot lower than Florida's. Long Island is the safest suburb in the country.

Weeki Wachee, FL: Property crime: 3, Violent crime: 5
Levittown, NY (where i'm moving to): Property crime:3, Violent crime: 2

Here's another comparison...

One of Long Island's most dangerous town, out of nearly 90 miles, Hempstead--
Property crime: 4
Violent crime: 5

Orlando--
Property crime: 7
Violent crime: 8

Yep, Florida is safer

What was your major in HS, if you graduated in NYS?
This is quite different from what you originally said.

"Yes, every year of HS requires a specific test for a specific subject. So if they take 5 subjects in one year, they are taking 5 state tests that year."

I really can't remember what my major was, probably just the basic liberal arts, do what you need to do to graduate type major.

Unemployment is 7.3% and 7.8%, slightly above the national average , in Orlando and Tampa. Hempstead may be right around average unemployment but couldn't come up with exact figures.

We could use NYC for an example but the median income compared to the median home price is a lot further out of wack.

It seems that the wages are not as low as you make it seem and when you add in the increased cost of living then it makes Tampa and Orlando look even better.
Your numbers do not match the reality in Florida:

Florida's low wages hammer working families

Look at the crime statistics on any website and you'll see LONG ISLAND is much safer than FL. I'm not talking about NYC.

Get your facts straight. I'm stating the facts. Nice try though.

By the way, I teach in a pretty dangerous area of the south Bronx, going on 2 years. Nothing has happened to me. If you really were shot and stabbed at (), it was probably in the 80s (or earlier) when NYC was one of the most dangerous cities.

People, don't believe this real estate agent. They make up things without having proof just so they can get more clients.

FACT: Not every part of Long Island is safer than every part of Florida.

Well get ready, because there's an awful lot of people who wonder about "the future" of the Big Apple:

If you could find me at least 3 towns in Florida with both crime rates lower than 2's (according to Sperlings' site), then i'll believe you. I couldn't find any.

NY won't ever be like the 1970s, no matter how bad the economy is. You don't live here, so you don't even know what's going on.

I've only been in Florida a total of two (then and now) years so I cannot compare the two.
