Sterling Heights is essentially the Michigan version of Cape Coral minus the canals...... a bunch of houses and not much else.
Troy is a good city.... but no different than any other nice suburb anywhere else.
If you want the "wealthy, beautiful" suburbs..... Birmingham, anything with Bloomfield in the name (there are several), exurb townships like Oakland and Washington and the Grosse Pointes (again, there are several)....

Close... but I don't think so. Birmingham is like the Naples of Michigan.....wealthy, yes but it's still a regular city with a large and varied population spanning most if not all income levels..
The wealthiest place in Michigan has got to be one of the Bloomfields:
Bloomfield Hills : Median income is over $200,000
49% of homes $1,000,000+
Also it is the wealthiest city in the US outside of CT, FL or CA.
Bloomfield is the Palm Beach of Michigan.
