I'm originally from Chicago. We needed to move to Atlanta, then Little Rock wiht my job - and it worked out fine for the kids after some initial hesitations. Now the kids are near grown, and we can't wait to head to Florida, where many wonderful vacations and memories have taken place.

If you take the move with an adventurous and positive attitude, it'll work great!
Good luck.

My idea of the right place is where you can buy a 5 acre lot for less than 25,000 or a place where property taxes do not exist. Having no gated communities or no zoning inspectors would eliminate stress. That's all I ask for.

I like the Panhandle. It's less crowded and crime ridden.

Smile If you could choose anywhere? Where?

I had to tranfer to Orlando, Florida with my job and lived there for fifteen years.Three years ago,we took an early retirement package and went all up and down the east coast looking and decided on Wilmington,North Carolina. We bought a beautiful all brick home in a gated community for $199,500 which are now selling for over $300,000.00.We live just minutes from beautiful Wrightsville Beach, shopping, golf courses, restaurants, etc. It's an option well worth checking out.
