Default For those who moved to Florida, why did you move there?

I am just trying to figure out something. With the many post showing different reasons why many people moved to Florida I thought it would be neat to have it all in one place.

If you moved to Florida from somewhere else, for what reason(s) did you move to Florida?

EX: Retirement, weather, job, family, beach, sunshine, col, quality of life etc.

To be closer to my young son and hopefully be in a position to be a better father to him. Sacrificed a great job and a new home to make the move but I think in these times its important to be a positive role model for him.

My husband was out of work for over a year and a company in Florida was the first place to offer him a job. I just came along because I didn't want to divorce him.

I moved here temporarily to take care of sick parents. I am originally from Newark, New Jersey, but have also lived in Long Beach, California for a short time.

To try something different and get away from a sociopathic ex boyfriend. All I could see was Palm Trees, the beach and sunshine when I first moved here. Now I am ready to leave.

I moved to Florida in 1991 from Massachusetts because of my job. I lived there in 2 different cities in 3 different homes until last May when I moved to Kentucky. My husband moved there in 1981 and is still there trying to sell our home there so that he can quit his "nice paying job", become a farmer and be closer to his parents who live 30 miles away.
