95 degrees in summer, with 98% Humidity. Thunder and lightning every day, so you can't plan a day at the beach.
From June 1st until November, theres that little problem of HURRICANES.
They love the "Healthy Lifestyle"
Eating fried food, till you're humongously overweight and have multiple medical problems.
Couldn't take the cold winters up north!
We have yo yo weather here in the winter. One day it's 70 the next day it's 40 on and on and on.
Friendly people!
Well not if you're gay, black, mixed race or anything other than a white bible banger.
Cost of Living!
People claim taxes are lower, but when compared to other states they are actually higher percentage wise.
Food is no cheaper here, than anywhere else.
Wages are the lowest in the country! It's a right to work state, and an "at will" state. Look up labor laws to see what these mean. Neither are good for the working stiff.
I personally am waiting for the day I can leave. Unfortunately it will also be the day, that I finally have no family left and will be alone. However, I will leave so fast the dust won't settle!

Yes some of the responses are laughable.
I know it may be hard to believe but people are different and like different things.
I for one love the heat, I also almost never go to the beach. You have blizzards up north, tornados in the mid west, earthquakes out west. I have never had a dollars worth of damage from a hurricane in almost 20 years in Florida
I know that fried food does not exist up north, we only have it in Florida.
Most people that have a hard time finding friendly people are most likely not friendly people. I have met some of the nicest people in Florida. In my office we have gays, blacks, and bible thumpers but I am none of the above and get along with all of them great.
If you read through the thread you will see many places have a higher property tax rate in addition to higher sales tax, add to that the state income tax and your combined taxes are quite a bit higher.
Wages are no where near the lowest in the country.
One thing I know we do have in Florida is malcontents who like to post in generalizations without many facts but that is getting better because many of them want to leave.

I just had surgery and will be stuck in the house for a week or so. It will give me a little more time to have fun with some of these.
Oops, I shouldn't have mentioned having surgery because now someone will tell me it only happened because I live in Florida.

I was just perusing some lists on city-data
Top 101 larger cities with the highest real estate tax percentages.
Florida has no cities on the list
Top 101 cities with the highest average humidity
The first Florida city is Jacksonville in 59th place and a total of 12 on the list. That means 89 cities in other states are on the list, 58 with a higher average humidity than anyplace in Florida

If I could, I would only go outside at night. Unfortunately, I have a day job and need to work in daylight hours.

Its been real nice at night and the days have been OK but those couple days last week near 80 degrees felt more like 90 here in Orlando. I drive a black car and have to run the AC throughout the year. My mistake for owning a black vehicle in Florida of all places.

We were in Port Charlotte last week, and the convertible we had had an outside temperature display. On Wednesday the nation's high was 86 degrees, in Punta Gorda. Our car said in the mid 80's all week. It just didn't feel that warm to us! When it's in the 80's here in Wisconsin, the humidity is also ridiculous, and it feels like 100. We talked about this since we got back, and are wondering, is the difference because of the breeze there in PC and PG? Because our hotel was right on the Harbor, AND we were looking at houses with canal access, we were next to the water most of the time, but not always. We spent plenty of time at outdoor bars along the Tamiami.
The only time we get any decent wind here is when it's already below freezing so it feels even colder! Then when it's 80 and you're dying for a breeze, nuttin'!!!

That's what I've heard. Been to Orlando once, didn't really care for it. That's why we're looking at the Gulf coast.

gypsy said it best...it's hard to have enough energy to even get through all of the negative posters. They seem to think that this proves how awful Florida is...the only thing it proves to me is that the people that are usually happy (because that's what they've chosen to be...regardless of hwere they live) are out having fun in Florida and the ones that are miserble everywhere are the oneson the pc complaining.
Me? I'd like to think I'm an optimist.
I read this in a fortune cookie the other day...I dedicate it to all of those negative Florida bashers:
Optimists feel that these are the best of times.
Pessimists fear that these are the best of times.
Good joke:
A scientist decided to see what the difference was between an optimist and a pessimist. He took a happy, optimistic boy and placed him in a room full of horse manure. He then did the same thing with a sad, pessimistic boy. A half hour later, he checked on them. The optimistic boy was digging through all of the manure with an excited grin on his face. The pessimistic boy was crying in the corner.
The scientist went over to the crying boy and asked him why he was crying. The little boy responded, "Can't you see all of the manure? I HATE it here! I want to leave!"
The scientist then went over to the happy boy and asked him why he was so happy. The happy boy responded:
"Because I just KNOW with all of this manure in here there's bound to be a pony somewhere and when I find him, I'm gonna ride him!".
I thought that joke was very cute! lol

Transients of many kind, I'm probably one of them since I'm picking up and leaving in three years. However, my wife had a nice lunch with my daughter, was suddenly approached by one asking for money. It's an unfortunate circumstance, but my wife had no choice but to ignore him for fear of her and my daughter's safety. He had a few choice words for her as she went into her car. They are either at at a corner or even outside of church, hoping people would be generous after leaving worship.
There are more and more homeless people, particularly in downtown says my friend who lives near downtown. What can be done about this? This is the only city I know which had panhandling zones. Is this still in effect, what's happening now with regards to the homeless situation in Orlando? I know it's everywhere, but seems more widespread, obviously because of the weather and the way the metro area is just laid out.
