I think you need to find out how the term Redneck is used in modern times...to summarize it in two words...country person.
Can you name 20 good Thai restaurants, 20 good French restaurants, 20 good night clubs, 20 good ultra-lounges, 10 good blues/jazz clubs, 5 good shopping districts (not just malls), 5 good comedy clubs, 5 good concert venues etc? Can you walk from your apt to a nice restaurant and then walk to a bar or lounge and then to a club and walk back or wave a taxi for $10 bucks to your apt? Can you try a different restaurant every single day for a year straight and not have to repeat a single restaurant?
Those may not be your thing, but the OP wants big city amenities and Tallahassee simply does not have it, nor even come close. There are a few thousand restaurants ranging from every type of cuisine you could ever think of in San Francisco. There are over a thousand clubs/bars/night clubs etc in San Francisco. You can get anywhere in San Francisco by walking or public transportation without having to wait 30 minutes + for a bus or subway and without having to walk 1-5 miles to the nearest station or stop.

Okay, well you cannot compare Tallahassee to real cities like Philadelphia and San Francisco. But for what it is, Tallahassee is a great place. It is NOT redneck, believe me I come from Redneck capital of the world Daytona Beach. Whoever said Tallahassee does not have scenery has not been to the right places. The rolling hills, enormous oak trees with hanging moss, picturesque canopy roads, azaleas and camellias, I could go on and on. If you want the "big city" experience, then I would say Tallahassee is not for you. Go to Philadelphia, New York, or San Francisco. But don't knock Tallahassee for what it is, it's a great place.

I think you need to check your attitude and realize that "redneck" doesn't mean the same thing to everyone, and not everyone appreciates having the term applied to them.
In short, you need to learn some manners.

Tallahassee may be many things, but redneck is certainly not one of them!
Jonotastic, the scene you describe is only available in a handful of American cities - let's get real here.
If anything, I honestly believe Tally has a bit more than most cities it's size due to the simple fact that it is quite far from other urban areas. Tallahassee acts as quite the regional hub for a very large geographical area of North Florida/South Georgia.
This is one big-city guy that loves Tallahassee.

We have one of the best film schools in the world and still get called redneck.
We have the National High Magnetic Field laboratory here and get called redneck.
The place votes overwhemingly for Obama and we get called redneck.
We have the highest educated population in the state and we get called redneck.
We have more lawyers and lobbyists per square mile than any other place in Florida and we get called redneck.
Our local economy is white-collar and we get called redneck?

I think Tallahssee is a great city because i live there myself, and i think you should because Tallahassee is not one of those typical florida cities, it is a large city(with over 800,000 people), but its not rediculous, like miami. And much safer than Tampa---And for nightlife, well theirs plenty to do

Um, Tallahassee does not have over 800,000 people. Try 168,979.
