I clicked on the link and made ONE comparison. It didn't show me the answer, but told me that my credit card would be charged 7.95 for what I had thought was free info. It does say," Click to confirm" and I got out of there FAST. I don't recommend going to that site.

I've already read several SC threads on Simpsonville/Greenville area and it sounds great.

Our daughter got a 2600 sq ft brick home on 3 acres of land in GA. She already has a small farm planted. The kids are having a ball. They also have chickens and ducks!
We are trying to determine if it is possible to relocate closer to my husbands office without living near his office. We are looking at other parts of FL (mainly northern), and parts of Georgia. What area did your daughter move to? How is the crime, etc.?

Default Jewels36

Our daughter moved to Moultrie GA. It is about an hour northwest of Valdosta. The area is rural, mostly farms. It has a very quaint Main Street with shops and does have a shopping district (Wal-Mart, Home Depot) but not much else. Our daughter moved about 1 yr ago and she loves the area and the people. Everyone knows each other and helps one another. BUT Moultrie is a 4 1/2 hour drive from the Tampa Bay area of FL. I thought you mentioned previously that your husband was working in the Trinity area. We also live in that area. That would be quite a drive for him! I know you were thinking about Spring Hill. That's about 40-45 minutes from Trinity area and might be what you're looking for. You can get better deals on homes in Spring Hill than Trinity. If you do look at Spring Hill, look on the east side of Rt 19. The west side is in the first evacuation zone. We did live in Regency Oaks (which is on the west side) for 12 years and never had to evacuate! Also, never had any sinkholes. We've lived in FL for 18 yrs and have never had any problems with sinkholes or anything other and minor hurricane damage.

Thanks, May. We are just not sure if we want to invest in a market that seems overvalued right now. The area so different than what we are accustomed to as well. My husband actually works very little in the office so it may not be necessary to live that close, just living closer may work. Then he can visit the office when needed, and even stay in hotel if necessary.

Half the time, we have no idea where he may be sent to work from one moment to the next. We were relocating to the office area becuase it is a central hub when he is not traveling and KY is too far for him to go back and forth.

We'll have to see. Decisisions, decisions.

If it doesn't bother you to live inland, away from the salt water, or you don't
mind a winter why live in Florida? You have many places to look at. But I think
that those who want to be close to beaches, year around fishing, kayaking,
outdoor activties and live in a area that offers, for the rest of the family, all
the shopping they could possibly want than they pick Florida. When the yanks
move to South Florida, its just a warm North East, nothing to adjust to.

Grass Is Greener,

You are correct. My husband's employer wants us to relocate to the area. If it wasn't for that, we would most likely stay where we are.

Moultrie/Colquitt County is one of Georgia's Fastest growing areas, lots of new growth in the retail and restaurant areas as well as new subdivisions are poping up all over. Subdivisions range from homes in the low to mid 100,000's to more than $300,000s gated communities.

Less than 40 minutes from Albany, Tifton, Valdosta, Thomasville, Adel and Camilla. Less than 1 hour from Tallahssee Florida. Less than 70 miles due north of the Gulf Coast, 2 hours from Panama City Beach. 3 1/2 hours South of Atlanta. The most centrally located city in South Georgia.

Recently have had articles from GeorgiaTrend Magazine and South Georgia Business Magazine talking about the growth and buzz around Moultrie.

Home to many major events and festivals including, Sunbelt Expo, multiple Art and Craft shows, multiple car shows, swimming compitions and is also home to one of the best outdoor diving facilities in the world. (Home to Olympic Diving Teams from around the world during the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta)

Hospital voted #1 in costumer satisfaction multiple years in a row.

One of the prettiest cities you have seen. Courthouse picked in a recent book as the "Prettiest Courthouse in Georgia"

Home to US Senator Saxby Chambliss.

New retailers are moving in at a steady pace, and really started to get the attention of developers after both Lowes and Home Depot built stores at the same time side by side.

Moultrie has that charm that most people fall in love with instantly. If your looking for low cost of living, friendly people, ample activities great health care and a booming real estate market, then you should check out Moultrie.

Most insurance companies in Florida consider your credit rating when determining your insurance costs. The better your credit, the better rates you get with auto and home insurance. The State is trying to curtail that practice but insurance companies argue that the practice tells them the worthiness of a insured. It will be interested to see how this plays out.

Might be true in some cases...though in my case, here in Miami, good credit ratings don't help me (or maybe yes??, oh God, I'd hate to see the others ins. bills ...). Anyhow, I can guarantee that my credit scores are way up the list, this has been confirmed w/the officers at one of my banks. I'm the type that even pays her credit cards to the penny at the end of the month & I'm 100% debt free in absolutely everything.
