Moving to Sebring
My wife and I plan to retire to Sebring. I had lived there many years ago and realize that it has grown considerably. We would like to purchase a
3/2/2, pool home and we were wondering what we might expect to pay. I am familiar with some of the areas in Sebring. We plan to visit in June in search of a home. Can anyone give us an idea?

I'd do an MLS search... type in a price range and see what you can get. I like the Spring Lake area myself. A little far from the "city" but nice and not too much traffic, so driving 10-15 miles only takes about 10-15 minutes.

Don't forget the best thing about Sebring...
The best in the world fried alligator at the Wild Turkey Saloon.

Golf Courses & Prices
I was hoping that a golfer might read this. We are also considering the North Port area, but I am thinking that the price to play golf over there has to be a lot higher on the coast. I am also in search of anyone who might have lived over in the North Port/Port Charlotte area. I have to believe the traffic has to be quite heavy compared to Sebring. Can Anyone comment on these two concerns.

Sebring is golf and fishing heaven for most people.
Also being located where it is at does give it an advantage of less traffic.
Many nice golf course homes in Sebring as well as homes close to some popular fishing.
I know someone who recently moved to Sebring and is living in a RV resort right now until he finds a home.

Thank you for your reply. Having lived in a small town atmosphere most of my life, I am used to less traffic and less people. I vision the North Port/Port Charlotte area as being like the Sarasota/Bradento area. Does this analogy sound correct? I would also think that the price to play golf is higher on the coastal areas.

I am a little late, but I am going to list my house soon. It is 3 br 2 bath, Cedar home built in 1996 with a 2 car garage, concrete in-ground swimming pool with enclosure. I have 4 golf courses within 5 miles of my house, I am not in town, but within 10 minutes of everything. If you are still considering moving to the Sebring area let me know @ lowell88@hotmail.com. I will be listing my house in the next couple months, would expect the listing price to be in the 250,000- 275,000 range. Would sell cheaper before listing.
