Default Are there differences in living on the East Coast vs. West Coast of Florida?

If you have lived on both coasts what were the differences between the two if any?

I feel a bit less worried about hurricanes here on the northeast coast.
However, we did not get hit during the two years we were on the west side (and wherever you are, you must prepare for the worst, and hope for the best).

The gulf was gorgeous, and the beaches prettier, on the west side, but I worry a bit less about bull sharks and other critters in the water where we are now, and the beach here is quite lovely.
