Someone mentioned above northerners buying our houses down here are the likely candidates to buy our houses, and I just threw out there who is liekly to buy our house when we sell it. We already know they are either going to be from the Island or from NY, lol. It wasnt meant for criticism or anything, just mentioning who will buy our house. When we lived in rural central Florida, it was going to be a retiree from the MidWest. Lol. We just knew!
Orlando doesnt seem to have many retirees, atleast not where I live. So, retirees arent usually the folks buying houses where we live, so our plan is to get a Hispanic realtor, preferably from Puerto Rico, who can show our house and I think it will help. I really do. And that was my point of who is buying our houses, atleast where we live in the Orlando area, because we have to gear towards that demographic.

That is just rude! My parents raised me better than that. I think a lot of us on this forum whether in Florida or any other state have similar issues with society in general. And a lot of us use a great deal of common sense when going through our daily routine and when you are this type of person and encounter people who don't use common sense (and goodness there are so many), you are taken aback. Think about it, you sit and you look at peoples actions and you sometimes ask yourself "how does this person function in life this way?" Really, it is a lack of common sense and a lot of people are conforming to that, rather than having people operate this way conforming to the right way of being. I don't want to go on and on about whose idea of right is really right. I think we can all be on the same page when we... I don't know, see and older person crossing the street slowly because they can barely walk and not honk at them to move their a$$, or hold a door for a person walking out of a place with there hands full and have them actually say thank you. Things along these lines. Common sense, common courtesy - it really needs to be used a whole lot more these days, it is all but lost and it is only getting worse. I will admit, I lose my patients with people like this sometimes!

I have seen some very, very rude and obnoxious behavior/reactions towards people crossing streets and so forth in FL. Anyone who can scream at a little girl for crossing the road to slowly, or honking at people when they are crossing the street, etc... needs some therapy. And frankly, I wish they'd learn some patience.

It just proves my point of lack of common sense and common courtesy - You know what I mean. If someone is honking behind me, now I'm going to drive even slower just to annoy you for being so rude. I know this is juvenile, but it makes me feel a little better.

I know what you mean Chelsa. You just have to be very careful. Road rage incidents are not uncommon in FL, so you have to be careful about who you make mad. People shoot at eachother down here if its gets bad.

I know, I heard - I just can't imagine getting that angry LOL - yell at them, flip them the bird and be on your way. Your life is certainly not worth any of that!

I live in Orlando, and I believe at one point, there were 4 road rage incidents (bad ones) on I-4 in one month.

Well, here in Naples on the Gulf Coast, you stand more more of a chance of selling your home to a Midwesterner than anybody from the NE.
Just the way it is. It's not easy getting to the Gulf Coast of Florida from the east coast. You have to travel clear across the state and then all the way south to get to SW Florida.

New York City to Miami 1291.15 miles / 20 hrs 27 minutes
New York City to Naples 1300.34 miles / 20 hrs 43 minutes

9.19 miles / 16 minutes, doesn't seem like that much of a difference to me.

EIGHT MILES? Florida is only 8 miles across the state? Even on a diagonal? Give me the statistics then on the break of Midwesterners versus New Yorkers for the Gulf Coast. Are you saying there are still MORE? I don't think so. I have EYES. I can see the out of state plates. There are far more from MICHIGAN here than from New York.
