Rental Insurance
We are hoping to move to the Ocala/Leesburg area in a little over a year. We've been exploring our different options and I've never seen this addressed. Can anyone tell me what the insurance rates are for personal property if one would chose to live in an apartment? It seems everyone owns their house or condo or lives in the villages. Could someone help me, please?

Contact an insurance company over the phone and get a quote, or get an online quote. It will be based on the value you want to insure your personal property for. Renters insurance is relatively low.

OK just in case anyone else has this question in the future. I filled out a form on the internet and was contacted by an agent this morning. If one lives in Marion Co. and wants to insure their personal belongings for 40,000 and have 100,000 for liability and 5,000 for medical payments and 4,000 for living expenses in case something happens, the premium is 245 a year. And that's a really long sentence. LOL

Make sure you get a couple more quotes. Did you contact the insurance company that insures your car? It might be cheaper with umbrella coverage. Good luck!

Mich, we hope to have the same company for our cars and for our personal property. We don't live in Fla. yet and won't for several months so we still insure our cars in our home state. We won't be able to stay with them when we move. I've also noticed something on some of the internet sites for apartments. It almost sounds like you can get your personal property insured with their company.
