Sadly we can't go permantantly for some years...it's a pension thing...

We'll probably be buying some land here in the next year. We go up there any chance we get.

If you get a chance once you get here, try to visit these places. They are so far away from the "image" of Florida.

Beautiful towns mentioned so far.

Thank you for posting these photos--I am not familiar with this town-but I soon will be. This is the kind of thing I miss from up north--like Cape May,NJ Since I've decided to stay put in Florida--most likely--I need to find all of these neat little places.

Hi Bette--Rosemary Beach is up on the panhandle--between Destin and Ft. Walton Beach--I think. I am hoping to get up there within the next few weeks to check it and Seaside out--along with other towns in the area.

Gypsychic--just curious--did you ever eat or stay at Chalet Suzanne in Lake Wales? We used to live so close to it, but never went cause we always took our 4 kids pretty much everywhere. I've read some wonderful things about the restaurant and would like to check it out sometime--esp. now that the kids have either moved out or have their own work schedules, etc.

Rosemary Beach and Seacrest Beach are side by side about 10 miles west of Panama City Beach. Most of the homes (including the ones in the pics) are vacation rental homes. It's where I am and what I do (property management). If you're serious about visiting the area, send me a PM and we'll get you hooked up!
Seaside is about 10 miles further west. The movie 'The Truman Show' was filmed there.
Destin is 28 miles from us (also west). Ft. Walton Beach is just past that.
