Me and a buddy of mine are thinking of moving to Pensacola for a year to take some time off from college. We were wondering if it would be a nice place to find a job and live in an apartment or if there were better suggestions to different places in northern FL.

The only plus to Pensahola is the awesome beaches. Since Hurricane Ivan prices are up, and jobs are down, wonderful combination. If you can live that year without a good paying job, and love the beach, you could consider it. But Pensahola is really sliding downward, lots of poverty and ghetto conditions, and it's a real shame because this could be such a great area. hope this helped and good luck...
