Question Where to go?

Got the opportunity to work two years in Tampa. As I am from Germany I do not really know where to move there.
Some told me to move to Ybor or Temple Terrace, others to Seffner?
I have never heard these names, but that's ok. Perhaps you can help me a little bit?

Default Tampa

I suggest the East Coast of Florida, but if Tampa is where you need to be I know Ybor is a trendy area with lots to do in walking distance and probably good if you enjoy being in the thick of it but if you have a family you should look in the suburbs Thanks Kevin@westpalmcondo.com

I live in Temple Terrace, and it is located directly next to east tampa which is the not so nice part of town. It is secluded though, but seroiusly, you just cross over a line and your in tampa within 1 second. Im not too crazy about temple terrace, i'd recommend to you citrus park/carrolwood

I would avoid Ybor, Seffner and Temple Terrace. I can't imagine anybody recommending any of these 3. Carrollwood and Citrus Park are much nicer if you want to be close in - although more expensive. You might head up to Wesley Chapel/Land O Lakes if you want a nice, new affordable family neighborhood. Our favorite place here in the Tampa Bay area is Palm Harbor but closer to the water and not a good place during hurricane season. Guess it all depends on your preferences - your age and what you're looking for.

really appreciate your comments.
we are in the mid 30's and have one child (7). i would have to work in the east of tampa. our preffered home is a house outside in the green with a school nearby and a family neighborhood - like now.
the locations i mentioned were advised by one of my new "colleagues" who meant, they would be next to tampa and i can come to work without any big traffic...
but it seems, that these areas are not that fine

You might try Brandon or Riverview - they would be nicer than Seffner with access to the east side. You might be able to find a decent place in Seffner but it's not to our liking.

Yes, I would advise you to stay away from east tampa (busch gardens area)
