^^^ I know you are talking about NY and NJ, but when you use the descriptions above, FL doesnt ring a bell? That's where FL gets most of it's bitchy, cranky people from, LOL. And my taxes are $4000/yr for a 3/2, so I know a little about property taxes, and dont get me started on traffic congestion. S FL, Tampa, and Central FL can compete when it comes to traffic.

And slums? You ever been to Miami, Opa Locka, or Belle Glade? Some of those areas look like 3rd world poverty-stricken areas.

PS- I dont wanna tick anyone off. There are most definitely good ppl from places like NY and NJ, no doubt.

SoFL rush hour traffic maybe, mainly do to geographical constraints, but Tampa and Orlando's(other than the Xmas holidays) traffic congestion don't even begin to compare with DC, Baltimore, Philly, NY/NJ, or Boston.

But then again hurricanes don't hit every year and it's has snowed for millions of years straight up there so go figure. We got everything you can want in a state. I get a kick out of people who compare NYC to Miami even though there is no comparison to NYC even in the U.S. You would have to go to Hong Kong or London to find anything close. It must not be all that great if they keep leaving it. You never hear of anybody moving from Florida up North past North Carolina. This thread doesn't make sense.
No? Now you have--I left FL as soon as I became an adult. I now live in MN! I moved here BY CHOICE, because of the quality of life I have found here. I still have family in FL and go to visit every year or two, but I would never even consider living there again. I wasn't one of your "weather trumps all" Flordians!

Florida has far more to offer than MN. Though you do have ice fishing, crappy weather, a ginormous shopping mall, and probably even MORE mosquitoes than us.

And FL is now known for the OUTSTANDING young parents like Casey Anthony & Ronald Cummings ...

Place the blame on everyone else. That's the mentality of the post.

So, basically the state then is filled with retirees who are bitchy & cranky & from everywhere else but FL or baby killing young parents who are from FL. Fabulous!

Orlando was rated 4th worst congestion in the U.S.

Entertainment doesnt equate to quality of life. Minnesota is consistently ranked very highly in the quality of life category. It must be for a reason.

I agree however about the weather. I couldnt take the cold for sooo long.

Hop - the same way you know natives who are nice and don't kill their children is the same way I know Northerners who are nice and don't kill their children and live in florida at this very second. does that mean every native Floridian is nice and has always been nice up until the moment that a Northerner moved there?? Highly unlikely and unbelievable. I like you a lot and believe that you and I see eye to eye on a lot of things. But you can't honestly say that Florida doesn't have it's fair share of nasties that have nothing to do with the North. If you can say that, I may have to rethink my thoughts that you are a reasonably intelligent human. Say it aint so!
