best beaches in north america for fun in the sun and the everglades and unique wildlife, still some great coastal towns.
this is honestly only good thing I can say about it that florida does the best. hey nothing wrong with that, most states do nothing the best.
I lived in Florida for 24 years and never been to Disney world... I do not like that aspect of Florida at ALL.

It can be seen both ways, but I will admit I do see your point - LOL. I thank you for not putting the so much emphasis on the negative, I made the other thread especially for you to tell me about all the things you hate and why, but I would really like for you to admit it is personal preference and not that the whole state sucks as a whole. Baby steps, I'll help you.

To all answering my posts I'm CHELSA not Chelsea. I'm sorry, just wanted you guys to know LOL. I know it isn't common and I may be the only one you will ever meet, but I do like my name, so I figured I should let you know the correct way to spell it. Oh and just to be clear, there is no attitude behind this, just wanted to put it out there. Didn't want to come off rude. Thank you.

I like the beaches, although I dont go that often, or as much as I'd like to. The cooler temps from late oct - early march.

Hey, I'll always have a place in my heart for FL. I still like parts of FL a lot, mainly northern FL including the panhandle. My wife was also born in FL, as well as my daughter. I also have family here. I still like FL itself, I just get fed up with the people that move here and have turned us into tropical New Jersey or Latin America, that's what I dislike!

I love my lack of boredom. There's always something fun to do. Boating, fishing, pro sports, beach walks, meeting lots of folks as we walk around the area, outdoor concerts, I could go on and on.
If only there were a 1/4 mile drag strip closer by me...man I really love that drag racing...
No state taxes is a pretty cool thing.
And come on...you know why the hater thread gets more responses...
"Oh, I hate it here...I hate my life...I hate everything...I'll feel better if you hate your life, too...everything up north is so much better...no one understands me...I'm always right and I need to put everyone in their place" ...blah blah freakin' blah... Now that crap IS boring!

I like how one of the best places to watch a space shuttle launch is from a floatable raft about 25 yards offshore of Cocoa Beach. There's just something neat about that mix of high tech and casual beach life.
job.

Can't agree more. There is nothing like watching a rocket launch from the beach. I have to admit that I really love Florida. It is so different from so many other places. The coastline is spectacular. The flora and fauna are a never ending source of fascination. The Everglades, the Keys, Atlantic Coast, South Florida, Gulf Coast and Panhandle all have such a different feel. The entertainment industry built for the tourist industry is just plain fun. I will especially second the notion that Cocoa beach has so many things going for it. It is a well kept secret in Florida.....Shhh.....

Doc - Florida actually has a LOT of "well-kept secrets" IMO. It seems like the bulk of people flock here to Orlando or Miami areas, where a lot of the biggest problems seem to lie (although of course there is good there, too) and people judge all of Florida by what they find in those areas. There are tons of beautiful smallish coastal towns and inland towns, even some with hills, but a lot of visitors and transplants never discover our "jewels." And you know what - I kind of hope they never do!
