Yeah....ummm NO. I have NEVER hear that phrase "it is what it is" down here ever... I have never heard it from any northers or southerners. Maybe it is a Tampa thing???? I hear a lot of "you guys" or the more annoying NY version "youS guys".

From Alaska. Nobody says it up there.

Don't forget if there are any phrases, it is always us northerners who made them up or use them, down here in the south there are no annoying phrases, right "Y'ALL"?????

Chris - what is your issue exactly with NYers? You seem to poke and prod a lot at NYers - wasn't it in fact someone from Mass that was arrested and Jailed for beating a man simply for having NY license plates? Anyway, NYer's generally don't say "yous guys" - that is really more of an Italian American thing (at least my experience witht that term) and you are so wrong about the "is what it is" term - it is definitely a North East term used heavily in the NYC Tri State area!

Just an observation, but you seem to be annoyed by just about everything. Take a breath - really those things are so trivial that you shouldn't give them a second thought.

it's used in Miami, maybe not as often. I even use it myself, I didn't know I was sounding like a New Yorker.

It is very tri-state areaish LOL - It is said all the time in offices in NYC and people are from connecticut, pa, jersey, upstate, and LI.
